If I ever needed proof that my mom, Sierra Esteban, used to be a rebel leader back home in Montega, today would have driven the home point loud and clear for me.

If I ever needed proof that my mom, Sierra Esteban, used to be a rebel leader back home in Montega, today would have driven the home point loud and clear for me. Would you believe she and I spent the whole day not shopping, not having lunch at a fancy restaurant, not talking about my college plans (no, those would be normal mother/daughter activities, and God forbid we should have any of those around here), but, believe it or not, plotting? Strategizing? And what, I can hear you ask, were we strategizing? How to take over a small, island nation? How to erase the national debt? No, no, not us. We were talking about how to beat my father, the great Craig Montgomery, at his own game. Yes, that’s right. That’s what Mom called it. She said that, in order for Aaron and me to be together, we would have to beat Daddy at his own game. You should’ve seen her! It was like she was getting ready for battle or something. I know the whole thing sounds a little extreme... mothers and daughters having top secret strategical conferences to convince fathers to accept perfectly fabulous boyfriends. But spend a week in my shoes and I can tell you nothing is too extreme when it comes to Daddy. Part of me was all for Mom’s original plan... that Aaron and I go back to Montega with her, all three of us together...but I know that wouldn’t work forever. The same problems would be waiting for us in Oakdale when (if!) we ever came back and I know I couldn’t ask Aaron to stay away from his family for me. I think I’d even miss Daddy if we left. Crazy, right? But I’ve grown accustomed to his insanity. I know he just wants what’s best for me... even when he’s completely totally absolutely wrong about what that is. Anyway, back to Mom’s battle plan... as tough as the two of us are, she thinks we need another ally. Guess who? Rosanna! You know, Daddy hasn’t even called to apologize to her yet... unbelievable! Rosanna thought Mom called her to make some plea on Daddy’s behalf. You should’ve seen her face when we told her the real reason was to enlist her help to show Daddy the error of his ways. Hell hath no fury like three women scorned. Stay tuned, this is going to be BEYOND interesting...
