And now, my breathless blogger fans, let me tell you about my date with Chris Hughes. YES! CHRIS HUGHES! He finally asked me out!!! But, of course, I knew it was only a matter of time. I mean, I am awesome Alison, right? Anyhow, there I was getting all ready for our big night out at the Lakeview when who shows up but my sister-mom? You should have seen the look on Em’s face when I told her I had a date with her EX! So, I told her all about my big plans to be just the kind of girl that Chris wants and she told me that sounds tiring. Typical Emily: oh, Alison’s having a parade -- let’s RAIN ON IT, shall we? But then I asked her what worked for her when she was trying to snag Hal and she said they were best friends first and the rest kind of came together. So, I filed that little gem away and am way glad I did because wouldn’t you know it, Dr. Chris shows up all smiles and flowers and says he has to CANCEL. Well, the mature, sophisticated, perfectly-coiffed Alison I invented went right out the window. How dare he cancel on me when I manicured and pedicured and exfoliated and everything?! But then, he says he thinks maybe we should just be friends. I could almost see him brace himself for the HIGH HEEL he assumed would shortly be flying at his face, but I was totally cool. I mean, this is perfect!! We’ll be best friends first, just like Hal and Em! So, one box of pizza and many rounds of video games later (I won, of course; I rock at video games, thank you very much), I found myself in the middle of the most perfect date ever with the most perfect guy ever. Ewww. I almost sound LUCYISH. But hey, it’s about time Ali got a little action, right? I’ll totally keep you all posted.
