Dear Martin;

    I got your note a few days ago about adding more personal information to my memoirs. I have to admit the idea makes me a bit wary.

    As I mentioned when we first embarked on this project last year, my only goal in writing this book is to publicize the story of the brave Montegan people and how they fought back against tyranny. Though we're calling them my memoirs, this book really isn't about me. It's about Montega.

    However, you are the expert. If you think this book would sell better if, as you said, "the reader is given a glimpse into the toll running a country can take on a woman's personal life," then, very well, I'll bow to your wishes and add a few pages of more personal recollections. As you know, it has always been my dream to tell the world about how the people of Montega won back their country against overwhelming odds. I would hate for my personal reticence to limit its potential.

    So, to that end, please find the attached text chronicling my life away from the political arena. As you requested, I've enclosed a few family photos, as well.

    Please let me know if this was the sort of material you had in mind. I am actually on my way to Oakdale, Illinois, to deal with a personal family matter, but my secretary always knows where to find me.

Sincerely;
