| Kelley Menighan Hensley took over the role of Emily Stewart on the CBS daytime drama, AS THE WORLD TURNS in July 1992 and received her first Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2002. The manipulative Emily, editor of a tabloid newspaper, has found an unlikely love with chief of detectives Hal Munson, stunning friends and family alike.
Menighan Hensley grew up in Glenview, Ill., with her parents, Jim and Suzann, and her sisters, Kathleen and Karoline. She attended Southern Methodist University, where she majored in theater and English and minored in art history. Her additional training in Los Angeles included dance at the Jane Perry Dance Studio and acting with private coaches. Menighan Hensley also worked for Los Angeles producers Michael and Melissa Trikilis, from whom she gained industry knowledge about everything from budgeting to casting. In addition to doing regional theater, Menighan Hensley has appeared in the daytime drama Santa Barbara; on the primetime television series America's Most Wanted; and in the television movie, The Gambler: The Luck of The Draw. Her feature film credits include Young Charlie Chaplin, Los Posas Road and Guns.
Menighan Hensley enjoys collecting antique furniture, quilts and jewelry, as well as working out, cooking and watching old movies. Her birthdate is Feb. 15. She and her husband Jon, who plays Holden Snyder on AS THE WORLD TURNS, were married in May 1996 and have a daughter, Sophie May (b. 12/23/98) and a son, Spencer James (b. 1/31/02). |
