| Maura West initially joined the CBS daytime drama AS THE WORLD TURNS in April 1995 as the scheming and manipulative Carly Tenney. She departed the show in May 1996, returning in September 1997. After being terrorized by her true love Jack's demented wife, Carly has forged a new liaison with Craig Montgomery. But old feelings die hard and the two men now vie for her affection.
West was born on April 27 in Springfield, Mass., the youngest of four children; her siblings include two brothers, Peter and Andrew, and one sister, Amy. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University. West received her second Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2002 as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and is also the recipient of four Soap Opera Digest Award nominations, including one for Favorite Couple alongside co-star Michael Park.
The actress, who married co-star Scott DeFreitas (Andy Dixon) last year, is the proud mother of Benjamin (b. 6/96), Joseph Peter (b. 3/29/00) and Katherine Marie (b. 1/9/02). |
