| Officially changed last name from Hughes to Munson in July 1999 because of the betrayal he felt from his "adoptive" father, Tom re: his affair with Emily and his extremely harsh treatment of Margo on the stand during Emily's murder trial.
Adam is young and impulsive, desperate to keep his family together, looking to regain the stability he had known all his life.
He forged a rapprochement with Tom while Tom was hospitalized after waking from his coma. Adam realized (through Eddie's situation with Alec) that Tom's actions, not biology, made Tom Adam's father. He finally called Tom "dad" again but continues to live with Hal.
Adam became friends with Abigail and was able to help out Abigail and her family with Vicky's ghost because of his interest in, and knowledge of, parapsychology. Gradually they became close and have started dating. Adam has even asked Abigail out to the prom.
