Manipulated by James, Barbara demanded that James remove Rose, Carly and Emily from her life. Through various set-up scenarios, James kidnapped all three women from Oakdale. Set to reclaim her life, she found that no one was accepting her back again.
When James taunted both Barbara and Paul about where the women were and his role in their abductions, Barbara tackled James to retrieve the “evidence.” Alas, the “evidence” was destroyed and James landed in a coma. After escaping once with Hal’s help, James escaped a second time, this time conscious, and with Craig’s help. James eventually set up a swap: Carly and Emily for Barbara. Barbara insisted on going through with it, and James left haggard old Carly behind after making off with Barbara. After James had Barbara’s face fixed, he noted they needed to get rid of one last loose end -- Emily. Rather than kill Emily, Barbara conspired with Emily and stabbed James in the gut. Back in Oakdale, Barbara is facing serious charges, but has a brash, lawyer. In order to pay her mounting legal bills and not drag anyone down with her, Barbara has dissolved her partnership with Lisa and secured a loan from Rosanna. |
