Jack finally recovered Carly from James in an exchange for Barbara. In an effort to get Carly to quickly regain custody of Parker (who had been given temporarily to Rosanna), Jack had Carly and Parker move in with him. At Hal and Emily’s wedding, Jack proposed and Carly accepted.
Jack stood by as Carly went to work for Craig as the chief designer at Monte Carlo (named for Montgomery and Carly/formerly BRO). Craig even convinced Jack and Carly to use their wedding (Monaco-based theme) to promote the new company. Fed up with Carly always being late to their appointments and finding her in a compromising position with Craig, Jack called off the wedding the day before. Feeling like her life was over, Carly slept with her old flame Mike. The next day, Jack changed his mind and Mike gave Molly another chance, but Rosanna was on to them and vowed to expose Mike and Carly.
But it only got worse for Carly. Right after the nuptials, Julia returned and presented Jack with his baby -- Jackie Junior or "JJ." Julia switched the blood samples so that the DNA tests proved that Jack was the father of JJ. Soon after, Julia slipped out of town (last seen boarding a flight to Turkey).
Meanwhile, Henry got the security guard at Monte Carlo to ID Mike as the man Carly slept with, but instead of going to Rosanna, Henry went to Carly and blackmailed her for $50,000. Mike took out a loan from Lucinda and gave Carly $50,000 to cover what she embezzled from Monte Carlo. Eventually, Craig lied and told Rosanna that he was the one who slept with Carly the night before her wedding. Carly became pregnant and told Mike the baby was Jack’s. After weeks of caring for little JJ, he spiked a fever and during his check-up, John and Susan discovered JJ had infant scoliosis. With no history of scoliosis in either Jack or Julia’s medical history, John found that Jack was not the father. Soon after JJ was returned to his parents (Karen and Archie Chronisters of Flagstaff, AZ) Carly told Jack that she was pregnant!
Carly did her best to keep her affair with Mike a secret, but eventually Jack found out. Feeling betrayed by his wife and his friends (for not telling him) and believing that Carly was pregnant with Mike’s child, Jack and Molly fell into a sudden passion filled tryst, though Jack stopped. But Mike walked in on them in a compromising position and Molly did nothing to dissuade his impression. Meanwhile, Carly went to Cancun, and when Craig found out about Molly and Jack he went down to find her. |
