Suspicions crept up and many people suggested Andy was faking paralysis. John found out Andy could walk only days before the hearing, and tried to cover up that he knew. Not only has John lost the respect of his peers at the hospital, his treatment of Camille and handling of the situation caused Camille’s desire to move to Chicago and continue her medical career there.
After Carly was kidnapped and Hal was hospitalized for deprogramming from James’s manipulations, John came to care for Parker. In April 2002, Rosanna Cabot came to town and gained temporary custody of Parker, feeling that family was better for him than passing him around between well-meaning strangers.
John watched over Margo as she was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and developed liver cancer. To save Margo’s life, Katie gave part of her liver to Margo and they both recovered fully from the operation.
