Margo has become increasingly worn down with each successive case added to her load: Hal’s disappearance, the kidnappings of Carly, Emily and Rose, Jack being held prisoner by Julia, and Dahlia Ventura trying to implicate Simon in multiple crimes. This helped mask some of her worrisome symptoms. Finally, she was forced to undergo some tests, which resulted in being diagnosed with Hepatitis C. Though resistant to the diagnosis at first, she finally realized that she must have contracted it in 1992 when Elroy Nevins raped her. As a result of the Hepatitis, she developed liver cancer, curable in her case only by a liver transplant. Katie volunteered to donate half her liver to Margo. The transplant was a success.
While resting at home, working unofficially, Margo tracked down James in Mexico, poised to return to town. When James did, Margo led the investigation in Brandy’s murder and suspected James, although Paul was initially charged -- but eventually exonerated. |
