Bob and Kim
When Bob Hughes and Kim Reynolds first came together, it was love at first sight. The timing, however, couldn't have been worse. Bob was married to Kim's sister, Jennifer, and unable to explore his attraction to Kim. Fourteen years and several marriage later, Bob and Kim finally came together as adults who had lived life, made mistakes, and were ready truly to commit to one another for the rest of their lives.
Bob's relationship with Jennifer ended tragically when she died in a car accident. By that time, Kim had divorced John and married Dan Stewart. After his untimely death from a fatal blood disease, Kim entered a rocky romance with restauranteur Nick Andropoulos. Meanwhile, Bob began a short-lived marriage with the beautiful Miranda Marlowe. When Miranda ran off and Nick suffered a fatal heart attack, Bob and Kim were finally both available and willing to pursue their love. Throughout the years, they had remained close friends and were confident that their union would last forever. The couple exchanged vows in April 1985 during a sunrise ceremony in the Oakdale Botanical Gardens. Their wedding song was appropriately titled, "Friends in Love."
This model marriage was only seriously in jeopardy during one particularly hard time in Kim's life, when her son, Andy, developed a severe drinking problem, Kim devoted all her time and energy toward helping her son and battling his father, John. During that time, Bob fell prey to the sultry Susan Stewart. Susan was suffering from an addiction to pain killers and Bob offered her with support and guidance. Bob and Susan had a brief affair but thankfully, Kim was able to forgive him.
Today, Bob and Kim's marriage stands strong on a foundation of love and commitment. Not only have they endured, they continue to persevere.
