ATWT's Martha Byrne: Every Rose Has Its Thorn
The last few months haven't been easy on Rose (Martha Byrne). The love triangle with Dusty (Grayson McCouch) and Paul (Roger Howarth), the meddling by Paul's mother Barbara (Colleen Zenk Pinter) and sister Jennifer (Jennifer Ferrin) and now, threatening phone calls and a few other unpleasant surprises. We recently caught up with Rose's portrayer, Martha Byrne to get her thoughts on Rose's latest travails.
Byrne opined about Rose's response to the latest round of antagonism she faces. "I think Rose comes from a very tough background, so she's very reluctant to assume anyone would hurt her, because it would take a lot to hurt her." Currently, Rose is underplaying the threats, but Byrne pointed out that underneath it all, Rose has a different take. "She's very tough and strong-minded and feels that she could tackle anything, and she's not afraid of anything. It doesn't really affect her too much, at least on the outside, but I think she's a little concerned."
With all this chaos leading up to Rose and Paul's wedding, an enthused Byrne looked ahead, and offered her take on the upcoming storyline. "I think basically, I think December is the best month we've had all year as far as what's going to happen." She added, "I think what we're doing in December could last all year on other shows, material wise, story wise. And it's fantastic. So, you have to tune in and check it out!"
