ATWT's Marriage-Go-Round
This hasn't been your average week for the residents of Oakdale. Jessica (Tamara Tunie) and Ben (Peter Parros) tied the knot amidst a tropical storm, and Paul (Roger Howarth) called off his wedding to Rose (Martha Byrne), only to have her collapse due to poisoning! During all this chaos, Alison (Jessica Dunphy) came up with a solution to her own problems: she asked Aaron to marry her. We caught up with Alison's portrayer, Jessica Dunphy, to get her take on what's going on in Alison's head.
Dunphy came up with a very succinct analysis of her character. "Alison's lonely and she needs a hug! [Laughs] I think she's had a hard life, and she's just trying to make her life better." Dunphy pointed out that Alison is trying to find a happy medium between her practical side and emotional side. "She's constantly facing a battle, between her head and her heart. Sometimes she does things that make seem to make sense to her, but it just hurts her in the end."
Of course, all this baggage led to Alison's asking Aaron to marry her. "She's not thinking properly. Sometimes, something sounds outrageous, but I think in her mind, the consequences are more outrageous." Dunphy added, "I think it's just her damage control, and her knowing it's not a good idea. But it's better that what things would be." Will these two go through with their plan to get married? Stay tuned!
