Michael Park talks Broadway and Babies!
CATCHING UP WITH MICHAEL PARK
In addition to his Emmy-nominated role as Jack Snyder, Michael Park has appeared on Broadway in Smokey Joe's Café, Little Me and Carousel. Is there another stage show in his future? And how will that mesh with the upcoming birth of his third child? SoapCity has all the scoop!
SoapCityAlina: Is impending parenthood easier or harder, the third time around?
Michael Park: We're not taking the pregnancy for granted by any means. A lot of tests have to be done because there were some problems with (daughter) Kathleen's birth. She has a heart murmur. So, we've had to go through all the tests and everything. But we're kind of like - we've done this twice already, so what kind of curveballs can this baby throw us? In the same sense, we're wary of the curve balls. But we're trying to be really cool about it.
SCA: Does Kathleen have any concerns about being displaced as the youngest child?
MP: Kathleen is simply positively giddy about having a little sister. We know it's a girl. Kathleen knows everything she's going to teach her already. She's going to introduce her to all of her dolls, and let it play with all of her dolls. And (son) Christopher gets to name his sister. He's decided on a name, and he's kind holding his own ground with his name that he's picked out, but I'm not telling you what it is.
SCA: Any chance we'll be seeing you back on Broadway any time soon?
MP: I don't feel like doing eight shows a week. It's a lot. It's stressful and it's exhausting. And kudos to the people who do both soaps and stage. They obviously don't have three children. There are so many talented people out there who are just aching to get on that stage. And I definitely know what that feels like. I sort of don't have that ache right now, because of the baby. But, who knows, a month from now or two months from now or when the baby's born, you might want to ask me again.
