All About Macy

After graduating from college, Macy Alexander returned to Los Angeles and took a job at her mother Sally's company -- Spectra Fashions. While the Forrester/Spectra fashion show was taking place aboard the Queen Mary cruise ship, Sally conspired to lock Macy and Ridge Forrester in a stateroom, hoping romance would spark. Her plan took a twist, though, when Thorne Forrester took his brother Ridge's room. Thorne was enchanted by the towel-clad Macy, having no idea that she was Sally's daughter. They began to date shortly after. Thorne proposed to Macy and she happily accepted, but when Thorne found out that Macy was Sally Spectra's daughter, he broke off their engagement. The couple eventually reconciled and exchanged vows on Macy's birthday, October 23. The Forrester family put their bitter feelings aside and joined together as a family to help Thorne celebrate this happy occasion.

The honeymoon period didn't last forever, however, and Macy and Thorne soon experienced marital problems. Macy worked at her marriage with Thorne, but when the Forrester business kept Thorne from home, Macy found solace with Jake Maclaine and also from alcohol. Macy started seeing Jake Maclaine, despite his involvement with Felicia Forrester. When Jake began working at Forrester, Thorne discovered that he was involved with Macy. Driven by jealousy, Thorne punched Jake in the face and fired him when he discovered that he was sleeping with Macy.

Before Macy and Thorne had a chance to reconcile, Thorne fell in love with Karen Spencer. Karen was Caroline Spencer's sister and bore a striking resemblance to Caroline. Macy and Karen eventually ordered Throne to choose between them. Just as Thorne was on his way to tell Macy that she was the one, he saw her hugging Jake good-bye and assumed Macy was seeing him. Thorne took Karen's virginity during a romantic Christmas-themed evening.

Macy became involved with Sly (a friend of Taylor's brother Zach) and at the same time, she battled with her alcohol addiction. Sly sabotaged Macy's attempt to meet with Thorne by plying her with alcohol and he remained silent about Macy's alcoholic problem, so she would remain dependent on him. Macy continued her downward spiral until Thorne found her lying in an alley and brought her home. Macy and Thorne agreed to stay together.

One night after Sheila Carter spiked Macy's drink, a new designer at Spectra Fashions named Anthony Armando took advantage of Macy. Macy and Sally both fell for Anthony, although mother and daughter were unaware of each other's feelings for Anthony. Thorne was filled with jealousy and tried to reconnect with his wife, but Macy tearfully declined and divorce papers were filed. Sally overheard Anthony and Macy profess their love for each other and promptly fired Macy from Spectra Fashions.

Macy and Thorne eventually reunited when they were invited to perform in a concert together in Rotterdam. Macy developed a potentially cancerous tumor in her throat but hid her condition in order to perform. She collapsed at the end of the concert and was rushed back to the States where she underwent throat cancer surgery. Thorne asked Macy to marry him again and she joyfully accepted. Anthony proposed two days later but Macy respectfully declined his offer. As Thorne and Macy celebrated their engagement, Ivana Vanderveld, a model at Forrester Creations who was interested in Thorne, desperately tried to drive Macy away from Thorne by writing her a threatening "fan" letter. Anthony found out about the letter and wrote two more threatening letters. Anthony finally revealed to Ivana that he was the one who wrote the other letters. Then Anthony murdered Ivana and framed Thorne for the crime.

Just as Macy and Thorne were about to exchange vows, Thorne was arrested for the murder of Ivana and thrown in jail. Macy discovered that Anthony was the killer and tried to tape record his confession. Anthony shot Sally and tried to rape Macy, but the police arrived and Anthony was taken into custody and charged with the murder of Ivana. Thorne was released from prison and the wedding continued. Miraculously, Macy's voice returned and she sang to Thorne at their wedding ceremony held at the Bikini Bar.

Thorne and Macy's marriage deteriorated when Macy mistakenly assumed Thorne was involved with another woman. Macy filed for divorce. Eventually, Macy fell in love with Grant Chambers, who was a designer at Forrester. Grant helped Macy achieve her lifelong goal of singing and together they bought the Insomnia Café. Macy and Grant were married and Thorne looked on sadly as he lost Macy to another man. Unfortunately, Macy and Grant's marriage was cut short when Grant became ill with testicular cancer. Grant's death almost destroyed Macy. Macy fell into a deep depression and she felt that she had nothing to live for. Just as Macy was about to give up all hope by walking into the ocean to drown herself, her father Adam Alexander showed up and saved her life.

Meanwhile, Thorne fell head over heels in love with Brooke. Brooke and Thorne traveled to Venice, along with the rest of the Forrester family. Thorne's family (especially his mother Stephanie), however, was less than thrilled at having Brooke back in the Forrester family fold. Ridge (with the support of his father Eric) schemed to break up Thorne and Brooke. Ridge pretended to seduce Brooke, hoping this would show her that she didn't truly care for Thorne. Brooke allowed herself to be affected by Ridge's sexy advances. A devastated Thorne spied Brooke's "betrayal" and fled outside. There, Thorne came upon Macy, who had traveled to Venice, ironically, to release Thorne from any future they might have. Macy's declaration came during a rainstorm, but Thorne saw his former wife as a ray of sunshine in his darkest hour. The combination of being in a romantic city like Venice and the bitterness of Brooke's betrayal prompted Thorne to reconsider his feelings for Macy. Thorne impulsively took Macy to Amsterdam where they re-married.

Thorne soon found himself drawn to Brooke again and realized that he had married Macy on the rebound. When Thorne told Macy he wanted to leave her for Brooke, Macy was devastated and once gain she turned to alcohol for solace. Macy's relapse only fueled Thorne's desire to end his marriage, but guilt prevented him from doing so right away. Macy used her marriage as motivation to get sober and Thorne felt obligated to remain by her side. However, Thorne was unable to suppress his feelings for Brooke, and he consulted Macy's AA counselor on the best way to end his marriage.

Frustrated with tiptoeing around the truth, Thorne frankly confessed to Macy that their marriage was a mistake and asked for a divorce. Macy pleaded with Thorne for another chance but ultimately agreed to sign the divorce papers if they could spend one last night together. At the Forrester cabin at Big Bear, Macy and Thorne danced to their song for one last time, and Thorne found Macy to be remarkably dignified. Thorne left the cabin without the signed divorce papers.

Frustrated with Thorne's compromise, Brooke drove to the cabin, divorce papers in hand and tried to get Macy to sign them on the spot. Macy was furious with Brooke for destroying her evening with Thorne and torched the divorce papers. Macy ran out of the cabin and jumped into Brooke's car. Brooke jumped in the passenger seat and watched in horror as Macy drove the car into an oil truck! Thorne ran to the scene of the accident and desperately tried to pull the women from the twisted wreck. Trapped behind the wheel, Macy insisted that Thorne save Brooke first, who was then unconscious. Thorne dragged Brooke to safety and watched helplessly as the car was quickly engulfed in a massive explosion. Though Macy's body was never identified, she was presumed dead.
