B&B On Location in Portofino
Day Two: Macy's Back from the Dead
A surprise visitor has made a grand appearance in the glorious town of Portofino on the Italian Riviera. Beloved fans of Bobbie Eakes will be thrilled to know that Macy is coming back to the show. Bobbie makes her first appearance on the show in the Italian episodes that will begin airing in early December, so watch out! B&B co-stars were excited about Bobbie's return. Darlene Conley (Sally), who has remained very close to her on-screen daughter, was disturbed that Internet rumors began circulating about Bobbie's return some time ago. "I'm not encouraging people to do things like that. It spoils the fun for the audience and that's who we're doing it for." Winsor Harmon (Thorne), who has always had strong storylines with Bobbie, was gushing with excitement. "I'm turning flips! Thorne and Macy were one of the hot couples in daytime. There's a history there and it's something that's always going to be there between the two of them, like Brooke and Ridge. I love working with Bobbie. I think I've done some of my best work with Bobbie, so I'm really looking forward to it."
Meanwhile, B&B cast and crew had a very involved day two in Portofino, as they shot scenes for a grand fashion show. The Italian fans have been relentless in their dedication to the B&B stars. Crowds of fans were standing for hours as the episode was being shot, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite B&B actors. Daniel McVicar – Portofino Journal Day Two – Forrester vs. Forrester
Yesterday, I thought there couldn't be a more beautiful day. Until this morning. Crisp blue skies, lovely bright light, what our lighting director and producers (and all of us) had hoped for. Portofino in all its glory and on the pier, in the center of town, our shooting of the big Fashion Show... Forrester vs. Forrester in the Portofino Challenge.
Many Italian dignitaries had been invited to come. The intellectual Claudio Fava from nearby Genova (Yes, in Italy, they revere their intellectuals). Also, the editor of their "People " Magazine, and a writer herself, Silvana Giacobini.
Michael Stich, the director, had cameras on the hills, in the water, on the crane in the sky. We weren't going to miss any opportunity to capture the beauty here.
It may be Forresters vs. Spectra, but the actors are all enjoying their time together, dining together in a large group every night. I have to confess we are having a lot of fun. We also work very hard, with early morning starts, lots of press interviews and the obstacle course of fans from all over who are trying their best to say hello while we are working. Extra security has been brought in, for when The Bold and the Beautiful shoots here it creates a lot of excitement.
As for me, I am charmed by this attention, but I know not to take it too personally. After all, we are here for the audience, and to serve the story. It's something to appreciate and not take too personally. It is only our second day, and so much has been shot already. We have a lot more to go!
Ciao for now and "Tanti Auguri" or all best wishes.
