B&B: Behind the Scenes at Ozzz The opening of Oscar's new nightclub, Ozzz, required a great deal of organization. Not only to build the actual set but to wrangle all the additional extras that were needed to make up the crowd of the upscale hotspot. SC's Donya spent two days at the B&B studio shooting her role as a guest of the club. Her day began at the wardrobe department where she was outfitted with some "bling bling" and nightclub wear. Most of the extras took care of their own hair and make up, but the B&B team was there to provide some finishing touches before shooting began. Most people assume that life on the set is glamorous, but Donya soon discovered the truth! Extras spend most of their time waiting around for the camera and lighting crews to arrange the perfect shot -- not to mention for the actors to get their lines just right so the director can move on to the next setup. In this particular scene -- where Macy (Bobbie Eakes) makes her debut at the opening of Oscar's (Brian Gaskill) new club, Ozzz -- tragedy is lurking. The chandelier is rigged by one of the syndicate members who is determined to undermine Oscar's new business venture. Unfortunately, the innocent victim of this malicious act would be Macy, when the chandelier plummets onto her while she is singing onstage. Since B&B only had the one chandelier, it was imperative that they get the shot right the first time. A lot of preparation is required and the extras and the actors had to wait around and entertain themselves for most of the time -- quietly. SC Donya reported that Darlene Conley (Sally) and Dan McVicar (Clarke) were the two hams on the set, constantly making wisecracks at their fellow actors and generally keeping the cast and crew's morale upbeat.
