The Bold and the Beautiful's New Year Revolutions The Bold and the Beautiful's New Year storylines are sure to dazzle fans. As Amber tries to undermine Bridget's relationship with Oscar, Deacon pines away for this Forrester beauty. While Nick longs for Brooke and composes a song dedicated to their love, Brooke looks for answers from a higher authority. Samantha takes a chance with Ridge, but will Ridge respond or is his heart still Brooke's? B&B's Associate Producer, Erin Stewart gives fans the lowdown on these dynamite January storylines.

Amber Goes Too Far
Amber sets her sights on Oscar and because she really wants Oscar for herself, she kind of just tries to chip away at any possible chink in his armor. [She tries to] make him feel insecure about the fact that Deacon and Bridget have this history, and that maybe if they were just given the chance to let it flourish, they could really have something. She feeds on any kind of doubts that he has. When she hears [Oscar] going on about how Bridget and him are going to have it all, she [says], 'Well, not necessarily. Deacon is a part of her past and maybe she can't admit her feelings, but I think if given a chance, they might really have something.' [Oscar] still maintains that it's not true at all, all she feels for him is pity and compassion and that's how he counters it.

Deacon Pursues Bridget
[Deacon] proposed and he's just convinced that if Bridget were to really see him for who he is now, [a] man [who] has really changed because of his involvement with Macy and becoming a father and a true father to Little D. [He tries to convince her] that if she could just let herself get over the pain he caused her in the past that she could see him [as] a man she could really love and be with. He is not going to give up easily in terms of trying to win her heart. I think her heart is with Oscar. I think she just doesn't know how to let [Deacon] down in a way that's not going to crush him based on the fact that he is already dealing with so much. So it's her trying to find that fine line.

Brooke Seeks Answers From Above
Brooke basically needs to go off, she goes to a spiritual retreat. [She] is trying to stick to her guns so to speak, [in terms of] her decision that her and Ridge can't be together, that she needs to do what's best for the child, for Ridge, for Nick and for the Marone family. She's really trying to figure out what that is. So she is seeking answers from above at the spiritual retreat to find out [what to do], even if her heart is so much telling her she should be with Ridge, that wasn't necessarily the best for everybody involved.

Nick Strikes a Chord
[Nick and Ridge] get a phone call from her, but they don't know where she is. She doesn't tell them where she is. Nick gets concerned about her and does some tracking down and finds out where the call possibly originated from. [He] goes after her because he's concerned about her and the child. While he's on the plane he's thinking of moments with her and he starts taking pen to paper and that's where he goes into writing his song. So, he literally strikes the chord by striking the chords on his guitar. As he's flying across to see her you'll actually hear him sing the song for the first time.
Who's the Daddy?
I think part of [Nick] wants to be really happy about it, but as much as he maybe wanted the child to be his, at the same time he wanted what's best for Brooke. He didn't want the friction with Ridge, he just found his brother, and so it's Jackie that kind of tries to convince him it's okay to be happy about this. Initially, [Brooke] goes off he sees that that might be an opportunity for him, but he still does not want to push her. He really goes after her more because he's worried about her safety and her mental stability and all that. Ultimately what's interesting with the paternity is it's not about the men's decision. It's about what Brooke feels should be the solution. She doesn't really leave it up to necessarily them. Both men have kind of made their feelings, intentions, clear. It's really about Brooke kind of deciding what is best for everyone involved.

Samantha Takes a Chance
It's not about her taking advantage of Ridge, in any way, it's that she loves this man. She's loved him for a long time, he was her first crush. During this time while Brooke's away, it's Stephanie kind of pushing [Samantha] in this direction. Stephanie says, "He needs somebody to be with and you're the perfect person for him." It is about her maybe taking Stephanie's words to heart, and approaching Ridge in a way that's out of character for her. It's Ridge's reaction to it that will be the surprise. He already knows that she cares, she's already admitted her love for him, it's the first time you'll see her take some real action regarding her feelings.
