B&B: Brian Gaskill's (Oscar) Vegas Wedding
As Oscar Marone prepares to wed Bridget Forrester on B&B, his portrayer Brian Gaskill recently made his own real-life walk down the aisle on Dec. 20 in none other than Las Vegas. Brian's romantic love story actually began on the set of B&B where he met his bride-to-be, Tonya Watts, who happened to be working as an extra when B&B shot the episodes for the opening of the Ozzz nightclub. "When I first saw her, she was this blonde girl dressed for The Bold and Beautiful," explains Brian. "I just figured she was some Beverly Hills actress wannabe. Then I found out she was a singer/songwriter. Not only that, the trick here is, once I realized who she was, I put two and two together: I had seen her perform a month before! I was checking her out and she remembers seeing me. It's almost like we were destined to meet that night, and because we weren't able to come together [then], we were brought together a month later."

From the get go, Brian and Tonya both realized that what they felt for each other was very intense and they knew early on that the relationship was the real thing. "When I met her, it was a combination of meeting her and it being the right time in my life," gushes Brian. "It was just, 'This is what I want, this is what I'm ready for and I'm just going to do it.' I knew her for three weeks before it was really clear in my head and spiritually; I was really already married to her after three weeks. So, the process after that of getting engaged and married was more like, 'Let's just make it official, because I already feel that way.' It was weird."

Life truly imitated art when Brian's character Oscar proposed to Bridget on the show. "I had to do the proposal [with Bridget]. I knew I was going to eventually propose to Tonya soon, anyway," says Brian. "We had talked about it and I felt a little weird about acting out this proposal before actually doing it with my wife, so I did it over the phone, the night before I shot it. Then she came back from Nashville and we hadn't seen each other in a couple of weeks and we realized we weren't really engaged. It was like, 'Are we going to do this or not?' About a week and a half later, we realized we were going to do it. I got the ring and proposed on Venice Beach." Not long after Brian proposed, he and his new fiancée decided to have an intimate ceremony. "I wanted as few people there as possible, because I have to do stuff like that on TV a lot," explains Brian. "It was completely foreign to me, doing it in reality, so I thought there was a chance I might feel like I was performing for an audience. I just wanted it to be really special, just between the two of us. When I was in the middle of doing it, that's when I knew it was really real, because I realized it wouldn't have felt like that."

The ceremony itself took place in a classic Las Vegas chapel. "We kind of laughed about it as we were doing it," recalls Brian. "We thought it was this cute little chapel we were going to and we showed up and it was, 'Viva Las Vegas' themed weddings. Our little chapel was actually inside a motel room. It was like a roadside inn and they had different themed rooms you could get married in, like Star Trek and Medieval Knight weddings. This was the straight chapel. We went in and were kind of laughing the whole time, like, 'OK, what did we get ourselves into!? I guess this is legal.' She wore a pink dress and I wore my Armani suit that I wore to the Emmys, last year. They did their sort of Christian ceremony and then I said a few things. Actually, our family did get to see it. It was on the Internet."
