B&B: Bridget's Choice
Some may say that Deacon (Sean Kanan) had it coming, but others feel that he turned his life around and deserves a chance at happiness. Even the characters on B&B are divided about whether or not Deacon should have love and success. It was this very dilemma that caused the latest round of conflict between Eric Forrester (John McCook) and his ever-forgiving daughter Bridget (Jennifer Finnigan). "You see Bridget realizes what's going on, and she's horrified not just for Deacon but she's horrified to see her dad be that way," explains John McCook. "Eric says, 'Well what the [the heck] did you think?' It's kind of good to see him defend himself against one of his children who thinks he's the sun and the moon and he says, 'Well, I am. But I'm other things too, you know, and you better accept it.'" Eric comes down hard on Bridget for taking Deacon's side and harshly warns her not to become involved with a man who broke her heart and almost destroyed Bridget's relationship with her mother Brooke. Despite her father's scolding, Bridget runs straight into the arms of her first love. Eric finds Deacon in a passionate and compromising position with Bridget. "We struggle over a gun, and it is accidental," says Sean Kanan about the shooting.
Deacon is shot and is rushed to the hospital where he discovers that his legs are paralyzed. "He's very dangerously hurt, he's in a wheelchair, maybe permanently, who knows," says John. Since the whole incident was an accident, Deacon forgives Eric, "I ultimately agree to sign a paper that says it was an accident, just sort of extending some goodwill to Eric," explains Sean. "Bridget uses that as an opportunity to hold true to his promise that he will help my company. So I now become a subsidiary of Forrester Creations."
Bridget becomes increasingly confused by her feelings for both Oscar (Brian Gaskill) and Deacon. Things become even more complicated when Oscar proposes to Bridget and soon after, Deacon pops the question just moments before going into surgery. "This [Deacon's proposal to Bridget] all happens really quickly," says Sean. "I'm just motivated by Bridget; her belief in me and kind of keeping my spirits up, and I get her a ring and the next thing you know, I'm proposing." Once again, Bridget finds herself having to battle her feelings for two gorgeous men. Fans will just have to keep tuning in to see whether Bridget will become the next Mrs. Marone or the next Mrs. Sharpe!
