B&B’s Cast Photo Shoot

The cast photo shoot is always an opportunity for B&B to create a record of which actors are part of the cast for that particular year. This year, B&B welcomed two newcomers -- Brian Gaskill (Oscar) and Sydney Penny (ex-Julia, AMC; ex-B.J., Santa Barbara). There's usually some kind of style or mood that is created for the cast photo. This year, Brad Bell (executive producer and head writer) wanted the cast to pose in a cozy and intimate grouping without a lot of attention to the set design. If it were up to John McCook (Eric) the cast photo would be classic and simple. "My favorite way of seeing an actor in a picture, is in a turtleneck or a black v-neck, something very simple so you can see what that actor really looks like," explained John. "My favorite thing would be to have us in black pants and white shirts, or black on black. Let's do all the same thing, so we're there as this ensemble of artists. I don't object, but I don't support this idea of themes each time, but I understand the necessity for it. You can't look the same every year."
One of the biggest surprises at the shoot was Adrienne Frantz's radical change of hair color. Most people did a double take when she walked into the studio, but the consensus was that Adrienne looks gorgeous as a brunette. "I called Brad (Bell) and I said, ‘Listen, I've got an idea because I need a major change in my life and Amber's going through a tumultuous time in her life and she could dye her hair because she needs a change,'" said Adrienne. "Brad said, ‘Sure. Let's try it.' I gave him the option though that if he hated it, that I'd die it back blonde in a couple of months, but he liked it so I'm keeping it." The other shocker of the day was when Bobbie Eakes (Macy) was asked to step out of several of the cast photos, since Macy is in a coma. Check out the behind-the-scenes pictures of this year's cast photo shoot.
