DÉBORA BLOCH 2 of 2

Débora Bloch"Most of my scenes are with Fagundes and with Drica, and I'd never worked previously with either one of them. It was a great experience, all scenes were shot in a very casual and spontaneous way. Drica and I are very good friends, and I think that affinity shows on the screen. It was a pleasure working with her. Our comedic timing worked really well."

Débora Bloch defines Tânia as 'an eccentric superficial woman': "She decides to take Tai-Chi lessons, falls in love with her teacher, a handsome Chinese, and starts dressing up like a Chinese woman, wearing Chinese sticks in her hair. Her style can best be described as sort of 'ethnic chic'. When living with her new Chinese husband becomes difficult and she starts to get fed up of him, she wants to go back to Pedro Paulo, but then it's too late."

Among the film's funniest scenes, Débora Bloch points out the "confusion" which takes place at Pedro Paulo's office, shot over two days in an apartment at Botafogo Beach: "This scene is very fast, with many people, and everyone was speaking at the same time. With the direct sound recording, sometimes we could only lip synch. It was very funny, also because it was all very fast, with lots of ad libs." She also refers to her first scene: "I took Tai-Chi lessons as a preparation for my role, and later several people from my class took part in the shooting, in Lagoa. It was a terrific experience."
