(VERMONT) A veteran standup comedian, Rogério Cardoso is celebrating his 47th artistic anniversary. In 1952, he started his professional career on the radio. Six years later, he was acting on stage, having appeared in over 40 plays, including João Bethencourt's Bonifácio Bilhões. In 1963, he made the transition to television, where he's build a solid career, in comedies and comedy series. He's originated he now famous Rolando Lero, a character from the Brazilian TV sit-com Escolinha do Professor Raimundo. His many screen credits include Ugo Giorgetti's Boleiros - Era uma Vez o Futebo, and Helvécio Ratton's Amor & Cia.
Seasoned stage and TV actor Rogério Cardoso plays Vermont, the owner of the law firm in which Pedro Paulo works. "Vermont is an old friend of Juan's, Pedro Paulo's father, and I play a refined, gentle, and cultivated lawyer," says he. According to the actor, BOSSA NOVA will bring back a forgotten image of Rio: "A romantic image, a romantic Rio. An image that's been fading, in the face of the city's violence that has made us forget this beautiful and human side of the city and its residents."
