New York-based trumpeter and recording artist CHRIS BOTTI (composer) follows up "First Wish," his solo debut on Verve Forecast, with his acclaimed film scoring debut for "Caught." Director Robert M. Young says of Botti, "We quickly realized we had access to a new talent who could sustain the mood and the emotion of the story on film better than anyone we listened to." Botti has performed on scores of albums and appeared on concert stages worldwide, lending his talents to everyone from Bob Dylan and Aretha Franklin to Thomas Dolby and Scritti Politti. During his five year association with Paul Simon, he toured the globe many times and played a month of sold out shows at Manhattan's Paramount Theatre. "First Wish," co-produced with Kevin Killen, held a chart position on pop instrumental radio for over five months, including eight weeks in the number 1 position. A collaboration with vocalist Edie Brickell on the song, Like I Do Now, was seen on VH1 and nominated for Billboard's Best New Artist Video Award. Botti has produced the Brecker Brothers' record "Out of the Loop," contributed a track to Windham Hill's recent compilation entitled "The Bach Variations," and is currently assembling a touring band to support his forthcoming album.
