HELMUT BERGER

(Alberto)

Helmut Berger was catapulted into the limelight when director Luchino Visconti plucked him from a pool of extras and cast him in the chilling lead role of the masterpiece, "The Damned." Born Helmut Steinberger in 1942 in Salzburg, Austria, Berger grew up in Stuttgart, and studied acting at the University of Perugia in Italy. He has continued an international career in film, and works extensively in television both in Europe and the U.S. (including a season on the series "Dynasty").
