ROMOLO VALLI

(Giorgio's Father )


Romolo Valli was born in Reggio Emilia in 1925, and died in Rome in 1980. After graduating with a law degree from the University of Parma, he plunged into acting and became one of the leading figures in Italian theater, together with such names as Zacconi, Ruggero, and De Filippo. Through his versatility he has conquered many great texts including those by Shakespeare, Thackeray and Pirandello.
Valli's most important film roles were in "Il Gattopardo" (The Leopard), directed by Luchino Visconti, "La Grande Guerra" (The Great War), directed by Mario Monicelli, and The Garden of the Finzi-Continis .
