Steve Buscemi Picture

(Nick)

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Steve Buscemi began to show an interest in drama while in his last year of high school. Soon after, he moved to Manhattan to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute. He and fellow actor/writer, Mark Boone Junior, began collaborating by writing and performing their own theater pieces in New York performance spaces and downtown theaters. This soon led to Buscemi being cast in his first lead role in PARTING GLANCES, portraying a musician with AIDS. Other acclaimed appearances include Quentin Tarantino's critically acclaimed RESERVOIR DOGS, in which his portrayal of Mr. Pink won him an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor; IN THE SOUP for Alex Rockwell; MYSTERY TRAIN for Jim Jarmusch; NEW YORK STORIES for Martin Scorsese; MILLER'S CROSSING, BARTON FINK, and the forthcoming FARGO for the Coen bothers; TWENTY BUCKS directed by Keva Rosenfeld; AIRHEADS, directed by Michael Lehmann, and cameo appearances in such films as RISING SUN, THE HUDSUCKER PROXY and PULP FICTION. He is currently working on TREES LOUNGE, his first feature as a director, in which he will also star.
