SAFFRON BURROWS (Twins) most recently completed shooting Renny Harlin's DEEP BLUE SEA with Samuel L. Jackson. Born and raised in Great Britain, Saffrons' other credits include the Australian romantic comedy HOTEL DE LOVE, Pat O'Connor's CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, Mark Joffe's THE MATCHMAKER and Jim Sheridan's IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER. On television, she starred opposite Albert Finney in Dennis Potter's KARAOKE for the BBC. On the London stage, Saffron appeared in TWO LIPS, INDIFFERENT RED.
SAFFRON BURROWS seemed at first to be too young for the double role of TWINS. But after seeing her work in Dennis Potter's KARAOKE (with Albert Finney and Richard E. Grant) and CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, I decided to give her the part. It is interesting, looking back on it, how one carries an image of a role for many years but once it is cast, the old image immediately vanishes. My only criticism of her performance is that it is a little too successful. The two twins look very different and most observers think that it is two characters.
