Yael Stone is Stacey
"Basically," says 14 year-old actor Yael Stone of the character she plays in ME MYSELF I, "Stacey is your typical adolescent chick."
"She's strong-minded, she's not fazed by anything except maybe getting her period. She's a bit of a bull which might be a strange thing to say but she's very strong in everything she does and when she does something she wants to do it well without much help and sometimes I go 'Omigod, this is exactly what I'd say!'"
"I suppose that's a sign of good casting!"
Yael, whose acting career to date has comprised of small plays and workshops, says she never imagined learning as much as she did on ME MYSELF I.
"I've never been in a situation like this before - learning how to accept help, seeing Rachel in a bra, everyone has just been amazing. I've only ever done community acting and crazy types of roles and this is a much more down to earth role. Despite the hair, she's a really normal person," Yael said.
For her part as the rebellious Stacey, Yael had a bright red streak put through the front of her classic brown bob. "Every now and then I would look in the mirror and scream, but I like it. But no way will my Mum let me keep it!"
Shaun Loseby is Douglas
Stacey's little brother Douglas is the sort of kid who just mucks up all the time, according to actor Shaun Loseby. "He's a little terror," said Shaun, "And sometimes I'm a little terror, so I knew what to do mostly."
Fresh from a small part in the soon-to-be-released Australian feature film, Passion, Shaun said the hardest part of working on ME MYSELF I was not looking at the camera.
Trent Sullivan as Rupert
As for the scene-stealing Rupert, first-time film actor Trent Sullivan aged four, was thrilled just to get the chance to "do a fake wee and eat a lot of Twisties."
