David Barron's career began in television commercials where, over a seven year period, he graduated from runner to producer before moving on to the production side of large scale film and television projects. After working as location manager or assistant director on films such as "The French Lieutenant's Woman" and "The Killing Fields," Barron became production manager on "Sharma and Beyond" and then Ridley Scott's "Legend." In 1984 he took on the duties of Production Supervisor on "Revolution" followed by "The Princess Bride," "The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne," "Hellbound," "Strapless," "Nightbreed," "Jim Henson's Greek Myths" and "Hamlet" starring Mel Gibson. In January 1991 he became Executive in charge of Production on Lucasfilm's "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles: Series 1." Next came "The Muppet Christmas Carol" and in 1993 he joined Kenneth Branagh's production team as Associate Producer and Unit Production Manager on "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein." Following completion of the film, Branagh and Barron forged an unofficial partnership which was cemented by Barron's role as producer on A MIDWINTER'S TALE. He will next co-produce Oliver Parker's "Othello" in which Branagh will play Iago.
