ENNIO MORRICONE

Internationally renowned composer Ennio Morricone has written the scores for over 350 movies, including all of Giuseppe Tornatore's previous films: "Il Camorrista," "Cinema Paradiso" (for which he won a British Academy Award), "Everybody's Fine" and "The Blue Dog," Tornatore's segment in the feature "Especially on Sunday." He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score for "Days of Heaven," "The Mission" and "The Untouchables."

Morricone began composing in his native Italy in the early sixties and came to prominence with his score for Sergio Leone's "A Fistful of Dollars." The two collaborated again on "For a Few Dollars More," "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," "Once Upon a Time in the West," "Duck, You Sucker" and "Once Upon a Time in America." Morricone also worked with many other leading Italian filmmakers, including Bernardo Bertolucci ("Before the Revolution," "Partner," "1900," "Luna," "The Tragedy of a Ridiculous Man"), Pier Paolo Pasolini ("The Hawks and the Sparrows," "Teorema," "The Decameron," "The Canterbury Tales," "Arabian Nights" "Salo"), The Taviani Brothers ("Allonsanfan," "Il Prato," "The Night of the Shooting Stars," "Chaos," "Good Morning Babylon"), Federico Fellini ("Ginger and Fred," "Intervista," "The Voices of the Moon") and Gillo Pontecorvo ("The Battle of Algiers," "Burn!").

Among his more notable recent credits are "La Cage Aux Folles," "Frantic," "A Time of Destiny," "Casualties of War," "The Old Gringo," "Fat Man and Little Boy," "Hamlet," "State of Grace," "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!" "Bugsy," "City of Joy," "In the Line of Fire" and "Disclosure."
