A music lover, Quignard is the President of the Baroque Festival at Versailles and the President du Concert des Nations. He has written over twenty essays on ancient literature and music, and is the author of five novels: Carus, Les Tablettes de Buis d'Apronenia Avitia, Le Salon du Wurtemberg, Les Escaliers de Chambord and Tous les Matins du Monde.
