THOMAS GIBSON

David

(David)

Thomas Gibson stars as David, a goodlooking young gay man who is searching for happiness but doesn't have a clue about where to find it. He gave up a successful acting career, fearful that his 15 minutes of fame were over. He is scared of committment, but really wants to be in love. He plays at being cynical, but in fact he is lost.

Gibson made his feature film debut in Ron Howard's FAR AND AWAY (1992), opposite Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. He also made a cameo appearance in Martin Scorsese's THE AGE OF INNOCENCE (1993). Most recently, Gibson starred in Whit Stillman's BARCELONA (1994), and appeared opposite Eric Stoltz and Meg Tilly in SLEEP WITH ME (1994).

Currently, Gibson can be seen starring as Dr. Daniel Nyland in the CBS medical drama "Chicago Hope."

Gibson's television credits include starring roles in the American Playhouse Production, "Tales of the City," which was one of the highest rated PBS shows when it aired in January 1994; ABC's miniseries "The Kennedys of Massachusetts"; NBC's miniseries adaptation of Gore Vidal's "Lincoln," and the soap operas "As the World Turns" and "Another World."

A graduate of Julliard School of Drama, Gibson has also had extensive theater experience. He performed with the New York Shakespeare Festival in "Henry IV (Parts I and II), "Edward II," "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress," "The Miser," "Macbeth," "Two Gentlemen of Verona," and "The Tempest," among others. Gibson has also appeared at the Manhattan Theater Club, the Ensemble Studio Theater, The Public Theater, LaMama Etc., and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
