RICHARD VETERE (Novelist/Screenwriter)
Richard Vetere is the author of The Third Miracle, his first novel, which was named "one of the best debut novels of the season" by Library Journal. A poet, playwright, novelist, actor and screenwriter, Vetere has achieved success on several fronts. In 1998, the television adaptation of his play "The Marriage Fool" became a CBS movie starring Walter Matthau and Carol Burnett. He also wrote the television adaptation of his stage play "Hale The Hero," which was aired on the A&E Network's General Motors Playwright's Theatre, starring Elizabeth Shue and Kevin Anderson. Vetere has also written several episodes for the "Dellaventura" series on CBS and the "Hoop Life" series on Showtime. He also just signed on as the co-executive producer, creator and supervising writer for a new series on CBs which is being produced by Warner Bros. And George Clooney.
Vetere is the author of over 40 plays which have been produced all over the world, including "Gangster Apparel," "How To Go Out on a Date in Queens," "The Vows," "Penelope Corelli," "The Engagement," "First Love" and "The Classic," to name a few. Vetere has published two volumes of poetry: Memories of Human Hands and A Dream of Angels. He holds a master's degree from Columbia University and lectures at Queens College on film writing.
