JOHN ROMANO (Screenwriter)
John Romano began his career in television as executive story editor of "Hill Street Blues," for which he wrote the Emmy-nominated final episode. Since then he's been writer/producer on a dozen dramatic series, including "L.A.Law," "Knots Landing," and "Party of Five," as well as creating his own: "Michael Hayes" starring David Caruso, and "Sweet Justice," with Cicely Tyson, which won NAACP-Image awards and the Justice and Media Award from President Clinton. The Third Miracle is his first feature script, and arose from his association with Francis Ford Coppola, with whom he co-produced the acclaimed TV movie "Dark Angel" with Eric Roberts.
Before Hollywood, Romano was a Professor of English at Columbia University, having earned his doctorate at Yale, and authored critical studies of Dickens and 19th century literature and art. He lives in Santa Monica with his wife and daughters.
