King produced and directed the Grammy-nominated "Rocky World," a music documentary on French Canadian musician and producer Daniel Lanois which featured U2, Peter Gabriel, Aaron Neville and Bob Dylan. King also directed "The Juliet Letters" featuring Elvis Costello. In 1994, King directed "A River Of Sound," a seven-part documentary on the changing course of Irish traditional music for RTE and BBC Northern Ireland. The series featured 130 musicians, including Van Morrison, Dolores O'Riordan and others. More recently, he programmed the "From the Heart" Festival at the Barbican Centre in London. After co-producing "This is My Father," Phillip King produced the music for John Boorman's film "The General." |
