Executive Vice President, Worldwide People & Organization, Sony Pictures Entertainment
George Rose has served as Executive Vice President of People & Organization at Sony Pictures Entertainment since January 2009. In this role, he is responsible for helping to attract, retain and develop a competitive global workforce.
Rose has extensive experience in human resource management, with a particular interest and focus in the areas of executive coaching and development. He joined Sony Pictures from Ogilvy & Mather in New York, where he worked as Chief Talent Officer. Prior to Ogilvy, he was Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Communications for Alpharma, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company. At Alpharma, he led numerous organization change efforts focused on the assessment, acquisition and development of employees worldwide.
Prior to joining Alpharma, he was Corporate VP of Leadership Development and Learning for Honeywell (formerly AlliedSignal), a Fortune 50 manufacturing company. He joined AlliedSignal in 1992 as Director of Organization and Management Development and contributed to the growth and productivity transformation of the company throughout the '90s. He also held various human resource leadership roles with CIGNA Corporation.
Rose is a guest lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Anderson School of Business, as well as the University of Southern California (USC) Center for Organizational Effectiveness. In addition, Rose serves on the advisory board for the Human Resources Round Table at UCLA and for USC’s Marshall School of Business.
Rose is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT with a B.S. degree in Psychology.
