Technical Emmys 2003!

ATWT (sharing with OLTL) took home the Technical Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing for a Drama Series on May 10, 2003, and celebrated the award with their co-stars, Ellen Dolan (Margo) and Terri Colombino (Katie).

"We always get to be the ones that shine, in the magazines and the televised Emmys," explained Terri. "But our crew absolutely works harder than we do. If anyone tells you differently, they're wrong. The crew is there all day, every day, working their hardest, trying their hardest and I just like to be here to support them and be here in their moment of glory. We’re happy for them because they're always pumped for us and we want to be pumped for them."

Terri's co-star, Ellen Dolan, agreed by saying, "Those guys are (on-set) every day. Think we've got a tough schedule? They're there every day at 6AM! And they stay till the bitter end. They just run and fix and do and run and fix and do. For that reason, they're the bones of our show. Plus, they've got to sit in a room with all those actors and listen to us gossip. They have to sit and listen and shut their mouths."

"The techies are the best," chimed in GL's Kim Zimmer (Reva). "They're our guys. We like to support them. They work harder than we do as actors. The crew works a lot harder than we could ever imagine. And the Tech Emmys are very reminiscent of what our (televised) Emmys used to be like. It's everybody in the business having a good time and celebrating our achievements."

"I've presented every year since I've been on the show at the Technical Emmys," said ATWT's Lesli Kay (Molly), "Because my feeling is the Tech Emmys are more fun. Honestly, I had more fun at the Technical Emmys even the year I won an Emmy myself (2001). It was more fun to be at the Technicals because it's a night for our crew. We actors are in front of the camera every day; we're on TV every day. But it's nice to see the people that don't always get the glory, finally get the glory. They're up there talking, giving a speech. Last year, I got to give our hair department their Emmy and it was the best night of my life."

And finally, a tongue-in-cheek Aubrey Dollar (Marina; GL) chimed in, "I presented at the Technical Emmys because they wouldn't let me present at the regular Emmys!"
