On June 30, 2003, the cast and crew of Guiding Light celebrated 51 fabulous years on television with a lavishly decorated cake on the set.

Prior to cutting the ceremonial first piece, Executive Producer John Conboy saluted his actors, technicians and staff by reminding them that, "The reason we're here and on the air at CBS is because of you. We've got great writers now, we've got wonderful directors now, and we have a terrific cast now. The men and women on this crew are the best I've ever worked with, and it's thrilling to come to work every morning. So, thank you all and happy anniversary!"

When questioned by SoapCity, all the actors agreed that their show had been steadily improving ever since Mr. Conboy took over the running of it in December of 2002, and they predicted even better times ahead.

Which, naturally, led SoapCity to ask your favorite stars (with tongue planted firmly in cheek), to complete the following sentence: Next year, in Springfield...

Jordi Vilasuso (Tony): Next year in Springfield, Tony Santos will become a school teacher. He will have graduated from college, and be teaching home economics.

Frank Dicopoulos (Frank): Next year, Frank hopes to be here. He hopes to be in a relationship. With his sister not married to Gus. And Marina in a nunnery.

Aubrey Dollar (Marina): Next year in Springfield, Marina will reign supreme.

Matthew Bomer (Ben): And an asteroid will hit the town.

AD: And there will be a musical day.

MB: Yes, a musical day. And Reva will live through it all.
