GL Fashion Show Part Two: The Clothes

We've filled you in on the drama, now it's time to get a peek at the fashion. The fur, fleece and fright wigs fly across the catwalk as Springfield gets a taste of "haute couture." We spoke with Costume Designer Shawn Dudley about putting together Springfield's gala affair. "Marah has designed the collection, but it's actually made up of many many pieces from all over that I've put together to make it look like a Marah collection," Dudley explained. When asked about his initial reaction when he read the script and the challenges of putting together the pieces for a fashion show therein, Dudley enthused, "I was actually really excited, because I've never actually done a fashion show in daytime." He added, "And being that it was Marah, we had fun with it. If it had been more 'mature' clothes, then I don't know if it would have been so exciting. Plus, I get to be involved with all the other departments here at the studio: music, the hair people and lighting. Everybody got involved."

Lindsey McKeon (Marah) was equally excited. "It's a big change of pace for the show. I commend the show for doing this. And I love some of the designs. They're really hot. And it's great to see the girls in these funky, fun outfits. It's not normal. It's more fun. It's a mish mash. '60s, mixed with '20s and '30s, but with the edge of now."
