| The teens of Springfield are headed for the prom, and SoapCity
has your exclusive scoop on all the fun and fashions (plus,
actor memories about their real-life proms)!
Marty West (Shayne), for instance, recalls that, "I
went to three junior proms and one senior prom. It was never
really my thing. I went because of girlfriends who wanted
to go. Though I went to a Junior Prom once that I enjoyed
going to. I was a sophomore at the time. My brother was a
Senior, and we were both dating girls who were juniors, so
it was fun to hang out with my older brother. That was a good
time. But Senior Year turned out to be a disappointment. I
blew everything I had on a limo, a hotel, all that good stuff.
And then we ended up getting into a big fight and got kicked
out of the hotel room for partying too loud. Senior Prom was
a washout."
"Prom is so overrated," agrees Martys co-star,
Aubrey Dollar (Marina). "You spend a hundred dollars
on a dress and wear it for five minutes, then change into
your jeans and go to some after party. Also, my date had a
little too much to drink at the pre-party and passed out on
the pool table. Prom really wasnt that much fun for
me. It was actually kind of a traumatic evening."
Will Shayne and Marinas evening be equally traumatic?
Theyre certainly not planning for it to be!
GLs Costume Designer, Shawn Dudley, reveals, "Marina
and Shayne are playing Dream Prom. At first, they dont
want to go because they think its going to be dorky.
Then they decide they want to go and that they are going to
have fun. Since this is her dream prom, weve put Marina
in a more traditional prom dress. Its pale blue, with
a fuller skirt. And then shes wearing her glittery blue
sneakers underneath. Because shes Marina!"
