GL Goes Urban Cowboy!

Aubrey Dollar (Marina) and 2003 Emmy® nominee Lindsey McKeon (Marah)
got the chance of a lifetime on April 29 when New York's newest musical,
Urban Cowboy, invited the two actresses to make their one-night-only
Broadway debuts on stage at the Broadhurst Theater. (On other nights,
their roles are traditionally played by swing members of the company.)

"I was so excited," Lindsey confessed to SoapCity prior to
going on stage. "I've never been on Broadway. This is a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity for me. I've never been live on stage outside of acting class.
No theater. None whatsoever. Needless to say, I'm a little bit nervous.
It will be really crazy to be in front of hundreds of people. I'm used
to taping shows (as if they were) live, but you can still stop and start
again if you screw up. I have nothing to fall back on now, so I'd better
do a good job!"

Although they'd been hoping for at least half an hour of rehearsal time
prior to the start of the show, in the end, Aubrey says they ended up
getting, "like, three minutes. And we only saw the blocking one time.
But everyone was so nice."

ATWT's Mark Collier (Mike) showed up to wish the pair well. |
|
So, after it was all over, how would Lindsey and Aubrey summarize their
New York stage debuts?
"It was kind of like being shot out of a cannon," they agreed
in unison.

Aubrey and Lindsey chill out with their very hunky new co-star. Do Jordi Vilasuso (Tony) and Matthew Bomer (Ben) have something to be nervous about? |
|
Aubrey laughed, "It was exhilarating. I was so nervous. I was just
saying my first line over and over again in my head before going out there."
Lindsey, who stressed that she was the one who had to go on-stage
first, so what was Aubrey complaining about, revealed, "Aubrey looked
over at me and laughed because I was doing the exact same thing she was,
repeating my first line over and over again, just trying to get them all
out!"
