Come Up and See Kim Zimmer Sometime!

When she was good: Kim Zimmer goes West... Mae West, that is.

On Saturday, May 31, 2003, the one and only Kim Zimmer (Reva) hosted Kim Zimmer and Friends, a fundraising evening of dinner, music, comedy and much more. Proceeds went to student and artist development for TheatreFest, the professional Equity Theatre-in-residence at Montclair State University. Such a worthy cause is familiar territory for Zimmer, who has a penchant for fundraising that helps the kids. "Everything I try to do is usually generated by children; those are the charities that I lean toward," she explained.

Mama was a cabaret singer, Papa used to write all her songs: Kim with husband AC Weary, who wrote some of Kim's memorable musical material that night, and son Jake.

And what a night it was! Springfield's favorite diva did not disappoint. The audience got a special treat during the live auction, where she camped and vamped in the Mae West costume she wore in TheatreFest's 2002 production of Dirty Blonde, singing a song written by husband AC Weary. And of course, co-star Robert Newman (Josh) came along for the fun. Fans got to hear Newman belt out a few songs, solo at first, then with his on-screen paramour.
