Josh comes to Springfield as a Spaulding Enterprises employee. He
pursues, and sleeps with, Morgan Nelson, the wife of Ed Bauer's godson,
Kelly Nelson. |

Ross Marler catches Josh in bed with Ross' wife, Carrie. |
| 1983 |
Josh starts up the "Tres Amigos" company with Ross and
Amanda Wexler Spaulding. |
| 1984 |
Reva Shayne, comes to town and Josh rekindles romance with her until
she tells him she was paid by Alan Spaulding to come to Springfield
to break up Billy & his wife, Vanessa. Josh dumps her, and she
goes to Hawaii with H.B. Lewis and marries him. Josh decides he wants
her back but when he finds out she married his father, he gets into
a car accident, which paralyzes him from the waist down. An injured
Josh moves in with Reva and H.B. and the tension between Josh and
Reva grows. They wind up making love while H.B. is away. Billy finds
them together, and sends Reva skittering back to Tulsa. Josh regains
the use of his legs and follows Reva to Tulsa. They decide to come
clean with H.B. until they learn he has been diagnosed with a fatal
heart condition. Reva returns to Springfield to be with H.B. Josh
later leaves town for the Lewis Oil office in Venezuela when he discovers
Reva is pregnant with H.B.'s child. |
| 1984 - 1986 |
Josh befriends psychiatrist Will Jeffries and marries Sonni Carrera.
On their honeymoon, Sonni falls from a rope bridge and is presumed
dead. |
| 1986 |
Returning to Springfield in the nick of time, Josh saves Reva from
being hit by a car as she is running out on her wedding to Kyle
Sampson. Reva and Josh reconcile and she gets pregnant.
As Reva returns from Florida, her plane is forced to make an emergency
landing, sending Reva into labor.

Marah Shayne is born and Will, new to Springfield from Venezuela,
tampers with computer records to make Josh think Kyle is the father
of Reva's baby even though Josh is really Marah's father. When Josh
finds out Reva already suspected this, he leaves Reva. They reconcile
but soon after, he is contacted by a very much-alive Sonni, who unbeknownst
to Josh, is plotting against him with Will. Josh feels obligated to
remarry Sonni. |
| 1988 |
Reva saves his life when Will pushes Josh off a bridge. Sonni gets
pregnant, but miscarries.
Will, pressuring Sonni because she is really falling in love with
Josh, is wounded by Sonni. An amnesiac Will accuses Josh of trying
to kill him. Josh is arrested and Sonni flees to Venezuela. Out
on bail, Josh and Reva go after Sonni and learn that she is suffering
from split personality disorder and that she tried to kill Will.
Josh is cleared and divorces Sonni.

Marah's true paternity is revealed. Josh and Reva marry at Cross
Creek. |
| 1990 |
Reva delivers Shayne. Suffering from post-partum depression, she
drives off a bridge in Florida. Her body is never found. Josh grieves
for months while Harley Cooper is nanny to his children. Harley eventually
pulls Josh out of his depression and they fall in love and get engaged.
Josh sees an image of Reva on TV from Italy and moves there to search
for Reva. |
| 1991 - 1993 |
Josh lives in Italy with his two children. While searching for Reva,
he meets Tangie Hill. |
| 1993 |
Returns to Springfield; Tangie follows him. Their romantic relationship
never quite gets off the ground. |
| 1995 |
Josh starts dating nurse Annie Dutton. Before deciding to marry,
Josh and Annie battle the ghost of Reva. He discovers she's still
married to Rick Bauer, who is still in love with her but grants
her a divorce. Josh forgives Annie for not telling him of her past
with Rick. On the day of their wedding, they discover that Reva
is alive. Once Reva and Josh divorce, Annie and Josh marry legally.
Still, Reva and Josh discover they still have feelings for each
other. They inch towards reconciliation, despite Annie's machinations.
When Josh leaves Annie for Reva, Annie miscarries, refuses a D&C,
and frames Reva for the attempted murder of Annie and her unborn
child. At Reva's trial, the truth comes out and Annie is charged
with fraud.
H.B. Lewis dies in his sleep at Cross Creek, devastating Josh.

| 1998 |
Annie, incarcerated for a previous crime, escapes jail, abducts
Reva, and leaves her for dead on a pilotless plane above the Florida
Keys as Annie parachutes to freedom. Devastated by Reva's "death,"
Josh teams up with doctor Michael Burke to clone Reva. As Josh grapples
with the clone, Reva makes her way back to Springfield. They remarry.
On their honeymoon in San Cristobel, Josh learns Reva was once married
to Prince Richard Winslow, with whom she had a child. He is hurt when
Reva insists on facing her past alone. |
| 2000 |
Josh and Reva separate over her inability to let go of her past
with Richard, devastating their children. Josh befriends Olivia Spencer
and starts to date her. Josh and Billy form a new company with the
help of Olivia, Matt Reardon, and Jim Lemay. Olivia accepts Josh's
marriage proposal. |
| 2001 |
Josh marries Olivia despite Marah's attempts to make sure the ceremony
takes place. Josh and Reva are repeatedly thrown together by family
crises, much to Olivia's chagrin. |
| 2002 |
Fresh off of his divorce from Olivia Spencer, Josh realizes there
is only one woman he will ever truly love -- Reva. The pair decide
to give their on-again/off-again relationship another shot, and Josh
falls madly in love with Reva all over again. He proposes to her at
Cross Creek and she accepts. Josh is brought back to reality when
he learns that his daughter's ex-boyfriend, Tony, has admitted to
killing his new bride, Catalina Quesada. Josh tries to talk Marah
out of sticking by Tony, who she believes is innocent. Josh and Reva
marry for the third time. Soon after, Josh stands by Reva as she is
tried for the mercy killing of Richard Winslow. |
