Ross comes to Springfield to defend Roger Thorpe against rape charges
brought against him by his wife, Holly. |

Ross becomes Assistant District Attorney and schemes with Lucille
Wexler to break up her daughter, Amanda Wexler's, marriage. |
| 1981 |
Ross defends his future wife, Carrie Todd, against charges she murdered
Diane Ballard and Joe Bradley. Carrie is later acquitted. |
| 1982 |
Ross marries Carrie, then later catches her in bed with Josh Lewis.
She is found to be suffering from multiple personality disorder and
is sent to an institution in Europe. Later, Ross divorces her. |
| 1983 |
Ross runs for district attorney and loses to Jerry Dalton due to
Alan Spaulding's smear campaign. (Alan's motivation: he is obsessed
with Trish Lewis, who is in love with Ross.) Ross is later cleared
of drug possession charges. |
| 1984 |
Ross joins forces with Alexandra Spaulding to seek revenge on Alan.
They blackmail him because he is secretly holding the antidote for
the Dreaming Death disease. |
| 1986 |
Ross finds out he has a 17-year-old daughter, Dinah, whom Vanessa
gave up for adoption at birth. |
| 1990 |
Engaged to Holly Lindsey, Ross catches her dancing with Roger in
a Mexican hotel room and breaks off with her. |
| 1992 |
Ross is caught in bed with Blake Marler by her mother, Holly. They
secretly continue the relationship while he is running for senator.
Ross wins the election but is forced to step down to protect Blake
from Roger's threats. |
| 1994 |
Ross weds Blake. |
| 1995 |
Dinah returns to Springfield and lives with Ross and Blake, causing
friction in the household. |
| 1996 |
Blake and Ross try to have a baby. Blake fears she's sterile.
Old flame Amanda Spaulding returns to Springfield intent on breaking
up Blake and Ross' marriage. Ross is flattered by Amanda's offer
of a noncommittal one-night stand but news of her past as a madam
and his devotion to Blake cause him to reject Amanda. A drunken
Blake, believing that Ross succumbed to Amanda's charms, sleeps
with Rick Bauer, equally distraught over his loss of Annie Dutton.
When Blake and Ross reconcile, Rick and Blake vow never to tell
Ross of their indiscretion. However, Blake discovers she's pregnant
with fraternal twins by different fathers. She gives birth to Jason
and Kevin at the Bauer cabin.

| 1997 |
When Blake and the twins are in an accident, Ross overhears from
a distraught Rick that he is Kevin's father. Ross leaves Blake,
but the two eventually reconcile.
Ross' half-brother, Ben Warren, who harbors a deep resentment towards
Ross, comes to Springfield to raise havoc.
Ross leaves his position as district attorney in order to defend
Abigail Blume in her murder trail.

Ross accidentally shoots Blake while aiming for Ben when he catches
them in a compromising position. Ross believes Ben raped his wife
and Blake allows him to think this. Ross learns that Blake voluntarily
slept with Ben and moves out. |
| 1999 |
Ross learns that he is, in fact, both twins' father.
Ross learns Dinah shot and killed Hart Jessup and defends Vanessa
when she is accused of harboring her daughter from the law.
Ross begins a flirtation and fling with India von Halkein, which
makes Blake jealous. Later, after Blake breaks up with Ben, Ross
considers being with her again but becomes close with Holly instead.
Locked in a bathroom, Blake and Ross get passionate and Blake gets
pregnant but she keeps this information from Ross. Blake secretly
writes a romance novel based on her, Ross', and Holly's situation.
Ross learns about the pregnancy and rushes to Blake's side just
in time to be with her when she gives birth to Clarissa on Christmas
Eve.
Ross defends Michelle Bauer Santos in her murder trial after she's
accused of killing Ben.

Ross is devastated when Michelle is found guilty of murder but
evidence eventually comes to light to free her.
Ross continually frustrates Blake by refusing to re-marry her.

| 2001 |
Ross defends Danny Santos when he faces charges that he killed
his mother, Carmen. Shortly afterwards, Blake notices his restlessness
and convinces him to teach a class at Springfield University. Impressed
by law student Tory Granger, Ross, at Blake's urging, hires her as
his legal assistant. But before long, Blake's jealousy gets the best
of her and she tries to make sure that their professional relationship
doesn't take a more personal turn. |
| 2002 |
Ross finds it hard to resist Tory. Temptation gets the better of
him and he sleeps with her. Overcome by guilt, Ross decides that Tory
means nothing to him and goes to all lengths to convince Blake that
she is the most important person in his life by telling her they should
get married. As Ross tries to sever ties with Tory, she just becomes
more persistent. She unexpectedly turns up in San Cristobel during
a vacation with Blake. Tory fakes her suicide to make the couple think
that she is sorry for all she did to them. Ross is so overcome by
guilt that he eventually admits to Blake that he did sleep with Tory.
Blake "disappears" but Ross starts to believe that Tory
may in fact be alive. Blake suddenly returns one day and they reconcile.
After the truth comes out about her imprisonment, Ross and Blake work
together to trap Tory. |
