| Backstory: |
Danny arrived in Springfield to find out who killed his brother,
Mick. His suspicions led him to Drew Jacobs, Michelle Bauer, Jesse
Blue and Bill Lewis. |
| Chronology: |
|
| 1998 |
Danny figures out Michelle murdered his brother in self-defense.
Ordered to kill her, Danny stages Michelle's death and tells Michelle
she must do as he says. |
| 1999 |
Danny brings Michelle to meet the boss: his mother, Carmen, introducing
Michelle as his wife. A livid Carmen insists they have a "real"
wedding. Danny and Michelle fight their true feelings of love for
one another and eventually consummate their marriage. Danny leaves
the family's mafia business behind to start a new life; he is blackmailed
by his mother. Michelle and Danny bond further despite the efforts
of Carmen, Danny's ex-girlfriend, Teresa Sandoval, and Ben Warren.
Carmen frames Michelle for Ben's murder. |
| 2000 |
Danny and Michelle flee to San Cristobel after she's convicted of
murder. Later, it comes to light that Carmen is Ben's killer. He convinces
Carmen to turn state's evidence and is devastated when Carmen is shot
down before she can enter the witness protection program. Out to avenge
his mother's death, Danny returns to the family shortly after Michelle's
miscarriage. This drives the couple to divorce and Michelle leaves
for New York, Danny unaware that she is pregnant again. Danny has
a brief fling with May Merisi (who he later learns is Federal Agent
Mary Murto) but shortly after Michelle returns, they reunite. A very
much alive Carmen kidnaps Michelle, intending to kill her. A stunned
Danny kills Carmen to protect Michelle and their unborn child. Danny's
guilt drives him deeper into the arms of the mob despite Michelle's
loving effort. |
| 2001 |
Danny resists Michelle's pull but the birth of their son, Robert
Frederico, unites the couple once again. Their bliss is short-lived
when FBI agent Gus Aitoro comes to Springfield, hellbent on putting
Danny behind bars. Gus manufactures evidence and Danny is put on trial
for Carmen's murder. With Michelle's help, Danny discovers that his
mother is, in fact, still alive and after a harrowing stand-off in
which Carmen once again intends to kill Michelle, Danny saves his
wife. The resulting proof of Carmen's existence means Danny is cleared
of all charges. Once again, Danny and Michelle try and live a "normal"
life and Danny retains employment with Spaulding Enterprises as a
security consultant. |
| 2002 |
Danny finds himself being pulled back into Infierno business, thanks
to Tony's arrest for Cat's murder. He knows that Carmen is happy that
he has no other choice but to help with the business. His involvement
with Infierno causes Danny to miss some time with Michele and Robbie.
Later, bigger problems crop up, when Michelle questions the illegal
means Danny employed to rescue Ed from Africa. The final straw for
their marriage, however, is when Carmen sends Michelle a videotape
of Danny threatening to kill Edmund. |
