Reva is paid by Alan Spaulding to come to Springfield to break up Billy Lewis and Vanessa Chamberlain by telling Billy they were never legally divorced. She decides not to go through with it and gives the money back to Alan.

Reva calls off her wedding to Kyle, informing him about Maeve's baby. Deeply depressed, she jumps off a bridge but is rescued by Cain Harris. Kyle and Maeve are married but when Cain becomes obsessed with Reva, he attempts to rape her and is shot and killed by Kyle.

Maeve, seeking a divorce from Kyle, lies, telling him that their baby was stillborn and that she is adopting another baby. At Reva and Kyle's wedding, Maeve bursts in and announces that Kyle is the baby's father, causing Reva to run out into the street and almost get hit by a car. She is saved by Josh, who has just returned to Springfield. They get back together and Reva gets pregnant. She collapses and learns she has a heart condition that almost kills her.

When Reva delivers Marah, she fears Kyle is the father due to the early nature of the birth. Josh's friend, Will Jeffries (who is really plotting against him), tampers with the paternity records so it looks like the baby is Kyle's, even though Marah is really Josh's daughter. As a result, Josh spurns Reva.

Josh and Reva eventually reconcile but his ex-wife from Venezuela, Sonni Carrera, who had been presumed dead, shows up in Springfield and Josh returns to her out of obligation. Meanwhile, Alan Spaulding becomes enamored of Reva.

Alan takes Reva back to Springfield where she discovers her children and husband have gone on without her. Not wanting to spoil their happiness, she backs away from reconciling with Josh and a custody battle ensues. Reva ends her relationship with Alan to better her chances in court.

Reva marries Buzz Cooper to prove to Josh that she no longer loves him. They fight to save Buzz's diner when a jealous Alan targets Fifth Street for demolition.

On her deathbed, Reva's mother, Sarah Shayne, begs Reva to find the illegitimate child Sarah gave away 25 years earlier.

Buzz and Reva divorce when Reva realizes that though she genuinely cares for Buzz, she loves Josh. Reva and Josh inch towards reconciliation, despite the machinations of Josh's wife, Annie Dutton. Annie poses as Reva's long-lost sister, with the help of Alan but Josh and Reva soon see through Annie's ruse. When Josh leaves Annie for Reva, Annie miscarries and is advised to have a D&C but refuses. Annie then frames Reva for attempted murder of herself and her unborn child by staging a dramatic fall down the a flight of stairs in front of witnesses. At Reva's trial, the truth comes out and Annie is charged with fraud. Reva pleads leniency for Annie for the sake of the children who had been under Annie's care.

HB Lewis dies in his sleep at Cross Creek, leaving Reva all his Lewis Oil stock.

Reva discovers Cassie Layne, an executive secretary at Lewis planted by Alan and Annie to break up Reva and Josh, is her real sister. Cassie reveals that she went along with Alan and Annie's plan in order to regain custody of her daughter, Tammy. Reva forgives Cassie and helps her get Tammy back from foster care.

Annie leaves Reva for dead when Reva's house burns to the ground.

Reva breaks up Annie's wedding to Alan by bringing Eddie Banks, Annie's ex-husband, to the ceremony where he reveals that Annie faked her death to avoid vehicular manslaughter charges. Annie lands in jail, furious at Reva. Annie escapes and abducts Reva, leaving her on a pilotless plane above the Florida Keys as Annie parachutes to freedom.

A devastated Josh believes Reva's dead and teams up with Dr. Michael Burke to produce a Reva clone so that he can spare the family the pain of losing Reva again. Meanwhile, Reva washes up on shore of a deserted island where she meets Sean, a self-exiled recluse, who reluctantly helps her back to civilization and becomes enamored of her.

Reva comes back to town to find Josh with the clone, whom they call Dolly. Dolly is jealous of Reva but eventually kills herself so Reva can be with Josh.

Reva remarries Josh but not before Annie returns to town, creating havoc, disguised as policewoman Teri DeMarco. Shortly after their remarriage, Reva stumbles upon a locket with a picture of a baby in it and begins to recall her life away from Josh during the years when she was presumed dead. She travels to San Cristobel, where she discovers she was called Catherine and was married to Prince Richard Winslow. Together, the two try to locate their son, Jonathan, when Olivia Spencer reveals to Reva that she entrusted Olivia to put Jonathan in the care of her sister, so that Richard's jealous brother, Edmund, could do him no harm. Edmund tries to kill Reva but Josh and Richard come to her rescue.

Reva and Richard finally unite with Jonathan but Reva tricks Richard and makes arrangements for their son to stay with his "parents." When Reva finally returns to an impatient Josh, there is a distance between the two. They separate as Reva sorts out her feelings for Richard. Reva and Richard find closure, but Reva is disturbed by Cassie's relationship (and proposed marriage) with Richard, causing a split between the two sisters.

Josh dates Olivia and Reva adjusts to life on her own, reconciling with Cassie shortly before she marries Richard. She starts a new career as a WSPR talk show host. She meets Dr. Noah Chase and she and Josh decide to start divorce proceedings.

Although Reva is happy with Noah, Olivia constantly feels threatened by Reva's presence in Josh's life. Reva learns Noah is not only a doctor but a government agent; together, the two foil an illegal immigrant operation run by the Santos family.

When Noah's possessive ex-wife shows up in town, the couple have to pull out all the stops to get her out of their lives. Although they try to keep their relationship a no-strings-attached affair, it is obvious that their feelings are deepening and they eventually become engaged.

Reva teams up with Cassie, Richard and Noah to try to prevent Edmund from ascending to the San Cristobel throne. In the process, she and Cassie are involved in a car accident in which Reva is blinded. Reva's sight eventually returns but she hides this fact from everyone but Noah, in the hopes of catching Olivia in an illegal act of bribing a San Cristobel official. While on the island, a devastating earthquake jeopardizes her life. She is rescued by Noah and Josh. Noah, knowing that she and Josh will always have a strong connection, calls off their engagement and leaves.

Back at home, Reva vows to make a life for herself apart from Josh but a mysterious portrait of a woman who strongly resembles Olivia leads her on a journey through time.
