| Chronology: |
|
| 1997 |
Annie Dutton and Alan Spaulding bring Cassie to town. In her new
job at Lewis Oil, she reluctantly agrees to spy on the company's deals
in exchange for help in locating her daughter, Tammy. Cassie hits
it off with Reva and learns that they are sisters. With Reva's help,
she reclaims Tammy and turns the tables on Alan and Annie. Hart Jessup
pursues Cassie, much to Dinah's chagrin. |
| 1998 |
Cassie is constantly the target of Dinah's hatred and she has additional
trouble when her ex-husband, Rob Layne, appears on the scene, claiming
he wants her back. She rejects him.
Cassie helps her brother-in-law, Josh Lewis, with the clone of
Reva, whom he has made when it is thought that Reva has died.
Cassie discovers that she's pregnant but doesn't tell Hart, who's
tending to a pregnant Dinah. When Dinah finds out that Cassie is
pregnant, she is highly upset. Cassie unveils that Dinah's baby
isn't really Hart's. When Dinah loses her baby, she is devastated,
not to mention jealous of Cassie, whom she kidnaps.
|
| 1999 |
Cassie has baby RJ in Dinah's car during a winter storm. She is
rescued by Hart, who proposes. Cassie witnesses Hart's murder when
Dinah mistakenly shoots him instead of Cassie. She grieves over his
death and focuses on raising her children. Financial realities lead
her to return to stripping but she makes a business deal with Richard
Winslow, Prince of San Cristobel (and Reva's ex-husband): he will
give her financial security if she marries him and produces an heir.
Unbeknownst to one another, both Cassie and Richard fall for each
other. |
| 2000 |
Cassie and Richard admit their love for one another. Their happiness
is threatened by the appearance of Rob, who points out that he and
Cassie never legally divorced. Reva and Cassie, newly reunited,
trick Rob into signing divorce papers, clearing the way for the
royal wedding to take place.
Cassie revels in her role as princess. Richard learns that he is
not a legitimate heir to the throne of San Cristobel and abdicates,
sending a pregnant Cassie out of town to protect her from his manipulative
brother, Edmund.
|
| 2001 |
Cassie returns to support her husband as he battles to ensure that
Edmund doesn't becomes the ruler of the country. In the process, Cassie
and Richard are devastated when she loses the baby, for which they
blame Edmund. Edmund kidnaps Cassie and holds her prisoner while Richard
frantically searches for her. When Richard tricks Edmund into believing
that Richard has died, they are finally reunited. Together again,
Cassie supports her husband in his bid to become San Cristobel's first
president and the two plan to expand their family. |
| 2002 |
Cassie and Richard are forced to move back to Springfield when the
people of San Cristobel vote that Richard's long-lost brother and
the rightful heir should take over. Cassie discovers that she owns
one half of the Old Beacon Hotel and must work together with Olivia
Spencer, who owns the other half. Cassie's world falls apart when
Richard is injured in a car accident. She donates his heart to Rick,
but later is horrified to learn that Reva pulled the plug on her husband! |
