GL: Welcome Back, Nancy!
On Thursday, Sept. 18, the cast and crew of GL got a glimpse of the newest family member: Francesca Liliana Puleo, daughter of Nancy St. Alban (Michelle). It was Nancy's first day back, and she couldn't have been happier to be there. "It was fun; it was a fun day. I was a little distracted, because I'm not used to having a baby and it was hard to focus. It's really nice to be back." St. Alban also spoke of her maternal concerns of bringing a newborn infant to work. "All of the sudden I'm leaving the house, coming into the big city with a little baby, so vulnerable. It's scary."
Of course, everyone was absolutely thrilled to see St. Alban and little Frankie. An enthused Paul Anthony Stewart (Danny) shared, "I'm thrilled that Nancy's back! I definitely missed having her around." Bauer brother Michael O'Leary (Rick) seconded that emotion. "It feels great, because Nancy has felt like my real sister from the very beginning. It's so amazing to see her with this little child, and you see how she's just taken to motherhood." And for GL's female stars, the sight of St. Alban and daughter stirred up many a maternal feeling. Yvonna Wright (Mel), due in January, mused, "I'm glad to see her and the new baby. Seeing both Crystal's [Chappell; Olivia] and Nancy's, I'm so excited to have mine." And Beth Ehlers (Harley) added, "Every time somebody has a baby here, we all get invested in it. And to have her come back and to have a baby look so sweet as Nancy's is, it's so joyful for all of us."
When asked what's next for her character, St. Alban pondered the question, then answered, "I don't know what's in store for Michelle and Danny now that I'm back. I'm hoping we have some fun stories coming up. I have a feeling Mr. Conboy has arranged some good things for us." Tune in on Friday, Oct. 17 to see Nancy's (and Michelle's) return!
