GL's Crystal Hunt is Flying High
While most young people would be content getting their drivers' license, Crystal Hunt (Lizzie, GL) has aimed even higher -- high in the sky, in fact. Hunt is only a few hours shy of having her helicopter pilots' license. We touched base with Hunt to find out what "propelled" her to take up this unique hobby. "My uncle always flies helicopters and my dad did too, and my grandfather did. I always said I wanted to fly helicopters, and so for my sixteenth birthday my uncle got me hours to get my helicopter pilot's license." Hunt explained that she has a short ways to go. "I'm about 12-20 hours short. What happens is, it's however long it takes you to get to the point where you can handle it. It's a minimum of 20 hours, though. I'm excited. I want to get it." Hunt also pointed out one of the perks of being a helicopter pilot. "Great entrance. I did a date that way one time." Unfortunately, the results were not what she hoped for. "We broke up the next day," she laughed. "I guess I was just so overwhelming!"
